Missions of the Department

Missions of Ege University:

• Our mission is to meet regional, national and universal requirements in education and research; to raise individuals who are professionally and culturally equipped, open to change and who adopt scientific thinking as a way of life, to be a university  that stood on its core values and offer  knowledge  for the benefit of society.

Missions of the Faculty of Letters: 

• To contribute to scientific production in fields of our departments with contemporary standards.
• To train scholars, researchers, teachers and professionals equipped with a sound cultural background and awareness of realities of Turkey and the World.
• To endeavour to improve quality of life of the people in Turkey considering regional and national needs.

Missions of the Department of Philosophy: 

• To educate philosophers who are well-informed in the fields of history of philosophy as well as fundemental problems of philosophy.
• To produce universal knowledge by means of evaluating actual-current events employing prospects provided by philosophical thinking.
